I offer an initial half-hour commitment-free session for £20 where we can begin to get to know each other and you can start to talk about some of the reasons why you have chosen to seek help.
The initial session is usually a relatively informal session that is more about finding out about therapy, what therapy involves and what you can expect from the counselling process. Towards the end of the session, there will be time for me to tell you a little about me, my experience and my approaches and for you to assess whether the type of counselling I offer will be of use to you.
If you feel you would like to have counselling then together we can arrange to either a number of sessions you would like to attend, (often useful if you are looking to work on particular issues that you might be looking to resolve) or we can arrange for maybe longer-term open-ended therapy, which can be useful if you are looking to work on more general life issues. Open-ended therapy ends when you feel the time is right for you to bring it to a close. Whether you choose short or long-term therapy, however long you choose to continue is up to you.
Regular counselling sessions are weekly and take place at the same time and on the same day and last for fifty minutes. Sessions are available at £45 per session (an additional cost of £10 per session applies for couples therapy).
If you cannot attend your regular session for some reason, I do have a cancellation policy. I ask for a weeks notice of intention to cancel. If you are able to provide notice in advance of this time period then the session fee does not apply.
